  • Separate trays or compartments for different voltage classes.
  • Vertical or horizontal spacing of at least 12 inches (300 mm) between power and control trays when possible .

The National Electrical Code (NEC) provides specific rules for mixed-voltage installations:

  • NEC 300.3(C), 725.136, 760.53/760.136, and 805 outline routing and separation requirements for Class 1, 2, and 3 circuits .
