Size parameters of edge data centers for intelligent computing centers
According to a recent JLL article, edge data centers have smaller capacities, between 500 kilowatts to 2 megawatts (versus the typical 80 MW capacity of most hyperscale centers). Edge computing data centers could hold the key to bridging a significant supply gap. However, only by taking a holistic approach to design covering power, cooling, and cabling can data center builders and operators set themselves up for success. The IoT, most generally, refers to any object with automated functions connected to the internet.
